Start, stop and resume
- Press Start or Space. The clock counts up from 00:00.00 in minutes, seconds and hundredths.
- From 100 minutes on it shows hours, minutes and seconds, such as 01:42:10, and drops the hundredths.
- Stop freezes the reading and Resume carries on from the same point. Stop and resume as often as you like.
- The time is truncated, never rounded, so the display only shows time that has fully passed.
- While it runs, the tab title shows whole seconds, such as 03:27 · Stopwatch · TimerFlip.
Record laps
- Press Lap or L at each checkpoint. The clock never stops.
- Under the clock a smaller line shows the lap in progress, such as Lap 3 · 00:41.20.
- The list puts the lap in progress on top, then the newest lap first. Each row has the lap's own time and the total when it was taken.
- From the second lap on, the fastest lap is marked Fastest in green and the slowest Slowest in red. If all laps are equal, neither is marked.
- The status line counts them, such as Stopped · 6 laps.
Reset
While the stopwatch runs the second button is Lap. Once stopped it becomes Reset, which clears the clock and the laps. R resets at any time, even while running.
Copy laps into a spreadsheet
Press Copy laps above the list. The button reads Copied for two seconds. Paste into Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers and each value lands in its own cell.
| Lap | Lap time | Total | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 00:41.20 | 00:41.20 | |
| 2 | 00:38.05 | 01:19.25 | Fastest |
| 3 | 00:44.90 | 02:04.15 | Slowest |
- The columns are separated by tabs, with a header row first and the oldest lap first.
- If the browser blocks the clipboard, the button reads Couldn't copy. Click the page once and try again.
- Laps live only in the open page. Copy them before you reload or close the tab.
Float, full screen and second screen
- On a computer, Start also opens the floating timer, which shows hundredths too.
- Full screen fills the display. The lap in progress shows above the clock and the bottom bar has Start or Stop, Lap, Reset and exit.
- Second screen shows the stopwatch alone on a projector. Space, L and R also work in that window.
- The stopwatch has no sound.
